"Blog Fast" Makes Friends

One person that my husband and I had come to know as an acquaintance has gone on a posting fast. We really did not know this person well, except that we may have crossed over several of the same paths out in the blogosphere and came to at least have a great respect for this person. Since he has been on a posting fast (which means you don't write comments on blogs for a period of time), one day he called our house (out of the blue!) to talk rather than to write comments. One might think that to call someone you've only heard of on the Internet to be an intrusion on their personal life, but this call was most welcome. I even seem to think of it as a compliment as this person actually took the time out of their own day just to call up and talk to my dear husband. What a novel concept - talking to a person!! It has stepped up a casual blog acquaintance to more of a cemented friendship. Oh, the wonders of interpersonal communications!
