Christmas Liturgy with Bishop Anthony

We had expected that the weather was going to be bad for travelling but the big snow storm that was predicted became nothing more than heavy rain. That was very fortunate for us since that allowed us to visit the cathedral as we had planned. Bishop Anthony served a heirarchical liturgy and Ben and Dominic got to serve in the altar. Dominic got to hold the Bishop's mantiya. It was the first time he's done it and he did an excellent job!

At one point in the service Dominic got to hold the trikirion. He held it very steady and with just one hand.

The little entrance with Father Basil holding the Gospel book.

Bishop Anthony blesses the congregation. "Lord, Lord look down from heaven on this vineyard which Your right hand has planted and bless it!"

Bishop Anthony bows over the gifts on the altar while Father Basil holds the veil above.

We were so glad to have gotten to go to the cathedral with Bishop Anthony. After service we got to visit with His Grace. He gave us an extra blessing for our safe travels back home and it turned out that we really needed it. The driving conditions were very difficult but we made it home safely.

I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas with their families.
Christ is born!
