TWO!
We had a great time celebrating Leo's second birthday! I made him a Party Animals cake which turned out really cute (thanks Pinterest for the idea!). I made little party hats for his animals out of scrapbook paper and glued little pom-poms on the top. I also made a small party hat for him which ended up being more of a party decoration than a hat. Leo wore his "Mr. TWO Cute" outfit but he was not so much a fan of the suspenders.
Nana and Opa, Grammy, and Great Grandma all came to his party! Leo got lots of fun presents - books, a plush cat, trucks, and more trucks! He's digging trucks right now. When he finished there were toys and scrunched balls of wrapping paper and empty boxes all over the floor but we got it tidied up in time for cake!
We sang Happy Birthday to him and he had the cutest bashful look on his face which turned into a big happy smile. He had the same reaction when we sang to him at coffee hour after church on Sunday. He gave an excellent try at blowing out his candle and nearly had it blown out. He got a little help from Dominic to get the job done. Leo ate up the ice cream on his plate and then dug up his cake with his new excavator. He really enjoys the excavator and he kept practicing saying the word 'excavator'. It's a big word for someone who is two!
Leo, you're such a joy in our lives! We love you endlessly!
God grant you many, many more years!
